Summary

Based on the teardown the repairability of the HMD Crest Max 5G seems to be pretty good. While there are some positive aspects such as the lack of adhesive and easy accessibility to the battery there are also several negative aspects such as the need to disassemble multiple components and remove plastic and metal covers. The availability of OEM spare parts and self-repair tutorials is a positive aspect. Overall I would give the device a score of 9.0 out of 10 for repairability primarily because HMD is making an effort to make their phones repairable.

Disassembly

Positive Negative
No adhesive used for the Back cover. Clips can be removed without using a heat gun. Several components need to disassembled to replace the Screen.
Battery cable and the Battery are easily accessible. Plastic covers covering the boards need to be removed to access the cables.
HMD sell OEM spare parts. Metal plates over the cable connectors need to be removed.
Official self repair tutorials are available online.
